Erika Knight's Wild Wool is a sustainable blend of soft wool and natural nettle. Nettle has been used for more than 2000 years because of its strength and durability as a textile, and it is grown abundantly in rainy areas without the need for pesticides, making it eco-friendly and sustainable. The wool is from the Corriedale breed raised in the Punta Arenas region of Chile, which produces the finest fleece in South America.
Corriedale sheep live in herds on large pastures, containing one hectare of land for each animal, and they have good welfare standards.
Wild Wool is a single ply worsted weight yarn. It has moderate drape and reasonably good stitch definition with a slight halo.
