Roma is a single ply, heavy sport/light DK weight, light-as-a-cloud blend of 80% cashmere and 20% mulberry silk yarn. The yarn has a uniquely soft luxurious quality. The raw cashmere wool for Roma is certified in the areas of animal welfare, sustainability, and social responsibility. Lamana sources the cashmere, as well as the mulberry silk, from China. The yarn is spun and dyed in Italy by a family-run traditional company.
Roma is light as a feather, incomparably soft and moderately priced thanks to the airy volume of the yarn with a meterage of 160m. Knitted one-stranded, it is perfect for dreamlike lightweight scarves and cozy sweaters with magical cashmere fluff, though it also works so well in combination with luxurious lace yarns. Lamana was founded in Germany in 2010 and works exclusively with owner-managed spinning mills in Italy and Peru. Lamana attaches great importance to the origin of the wool, the treatment of the animals, and the processing and dyeing of the fibers.
