Remembering Teresa Kit

Remembering Teresa is our first design from Jean Chung.  She's a lawyer by day, passionate crafter, wife, and mom by night, and you can learn more about her here.

Remembering Teresa is a love letter from designer Jean Chung to her late mother who taught Jean how to knit.  She has designed this spring and summer layering piece with lace and cable insets and a shawl collar, and it is knit in the round from the bottom up until it gets divided for the front neckline. 

Jean designed it with BC Garn Northern Lights, a worsted weight organic wool and silk blend.  The silk adds just enough softness to make wearing this piece a dream, even in warmer weather.  Our model is in BC Garn Northern Lights in color F5.

FINISHED DIMENSIONS:

 31 1/4 (35 1/4, 39 1/4, 43 1/4, 46 1/2, 51 1/4, 54 1/2, 59 1/4, 64 )" bust circumference
22 3/4 (23 1/4, 23 3/4, 25 1/4, 25 3/4, 26 1/4, 28, 28 1/2, 29 3/4)" length from shoulder to lower edge

Due to the stitch pattern and the construction of the vest, the resulting piece accommodates various sizes in between.  If your bust circumference falls between sizes, go with the size you're closer to.  For example, if your bust circumference is 33", you will probably do well in size 31 1/4"; if your bust circumference is 59", you will look great in size 59 1/4".

GAUGE:

20 sts & 24 rows = 10 cm/4 in in stockinette stitch

In addition to the materials in the Kit, you will need: 

Size 4 mm (US 6) circular needle, 32" or longer and set of double-pointed needles
Cable needle
Stitch markers (it may be helpful to use different color or shape stitch markers for the beginning of the round, the halfway point, and each lace and cable section)
Removable stitch markers
2 stitch holders (or waste yarn)
Tapestry needle
Scissors
