Have you seen SweaterFreak's Pines and Needles Shawl design? It has that optical illusion quality, and we love it. We knit ours up in Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino Joy, an organic machine-washable wool sport weight yarn. It's so soft, and the stitch definition really works for this pattern.
We've put together kits of Cheeky Merino Joy in some color palettes to go along with the pattern - we've given you enough yarn to make the shawl. You'll need to buy the Pines & Needles Shawl pattern from SweaterFreak directly - here's the Ravelry link!
Our model is in Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino Joy in Colors Melange Midnight and Melange Terra, and we used one skein of each color (and had some left over!).
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
One size - length 62" by 26" at the widest point, blocked
GAUGE:
19 sts and 22 rows = 10 cm/4 in in Herringbone mosaic stitch in 3.75 mm (US 5) needles after blocking, or size needed to obtain gauge
