Northern Lights is a worsted weight organic wool and silk blend yarn.  A very soft but not woolly yarn, the silk portion creates little highlights - just like northern lights. The fiber blend of this yarn makes it a good indoor as well as outdoor yarn, suitable for sensitive adults as well as children and babies.

It is GOTS-certified, which means that it is grown, processed, and dyed in an environmentally sustainable way.  BC Garn is a Danish family-owned business focused on creating deep color palettes with environmentally-friendly yarns.

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification requires that all stages of the production are ecologically, environmentally, and ethically sustainable from start to finish.  The growing conditions, dye processes, waste water treatment, and fair and ethical working conditions must meet GOTS standards. GOTS is the only internationally recognized organic certification.

Northern Lights has good stitch definition.  Since it is a worsted weight yarn, its drape is medium, but the knitted fabric has some thickness to it.
