Our Free Beginner Tutorial Design - Garter Stitch Baby Blanket (or pet bed, whatever makes you happy) - is a perfect first project. It's designed for absolute beginners, and the digital version is integrated with KnitSchool (our knitting skills videos).
You'll learn how to: cast on, knit stitch, change balls of yarn, bind off, and block the finished object

YARN:
Erika Knight Maxi Wool or Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok North. If you're not using one of our kits, you'll need at least 205 m (225 yds) of super bulky weight yarn.
NEEDLES & NOTIONS:
12 mm or 12.75 mm (US 17) Brittany Straight Needles
Tapestry needle for sewing in the ends
Scissors (not included in our kit)
GAUGE:
2 stitches to the inch, although matching gauge exactly isn’t necessary for this project
FINISHED DIMENSIONS:
24" wide by 33" long
