Welcome O-Wool - Our Newest Artisan

We're excited to announce that we now carry O-Wool - a Philadelphia-based woman-owned yarn label that sources organic yarn bases and dyes them in a wide range of luscious colors.  O-Wool's owner has a background in Textile Design and Studio Art, and she brings her love of, and expertise in, all things fiber to create truly special yarns for O-Wool.  You can learn more about her and O-Wool here.

We currently carry O-Wool's O-Wash Chunky and O-Wash Fingering weight Merino yarns in a variety of colors.  Their O-Wash line is GOTS certified organic Merino AND is machine washable, using a certified organic proprietary polymer.  Normally, creating a machine washable wool would require using acid or other harsh chemicals.  But O-Wool found a better way.  GOTS is the only internationally recognized organic certification and requires examination of certain environmental and social criteria for a yarn to be certified.

The O-Wash yarns are lovely to work with, and the colors are perfect for stranded colorwork.  They're soft to the touch and are going to become one of your favorites (they are already one of ours!).  And the fact that they are machine washable is . . . priceless.
