Distinctly Alpaca Yarn from Black Wolf Ranch

Nov 6, 2017

Alpaca fiber is one of our favorites - super soft and warm.  And alpacas are pretty cute animals, too!  So we're happy to introduce our newest Artisan - Black Wolf Ranch.  Black Wolf Ranch is a woman-owned business, and you can learn more about its owner, Wendy Tyler, and the Ranch here.

Black Wolf Ranch is in Montana, and they raise alpaca, have the fleece milled, and custom dye their yarns.  With the exception of the milling, everything happens on the Ranch in Montana.

We carry their Distinctly Alpaca Sport weight yarn in a range of gorgeous colors.  It's 100% alpaca yarn from the fleece of Black Wolf Ranch's flock.

We hope that you love it, too!

PS The mother and baby in the photo are Moonbeam (mom), and Safari (baby).  Safari was only an hour or two old and was still getting used to the world!

Good morning from Southern California! A few years ago, – pre Covid_ I attended Stitches West where you had a stall featuring your beautiful yarns. I purchased 6 skeins of your sport weight Brilliant Distinctively Alpaca for a pattern that you were showing. Alas! now that I am retired I keep looking for the pattern but so far, to no avail. Do you have any recollection of what it may have been? I think it was either a poncho or a vest that required 5 to 6 skeins. Any ideas? I’ve looked into Ravelry but do not see it featured.
    Thank you
